Shady Hollow is where I grew up. It is seven acres of heaven surrounded by woods, pastures creeks and lakes. It is where all of my childhood memories are preserved; where my brother and I built forts, adventured, caught frogs and tadpoles in the creeks. It is where we watched pink and purple sunrises together and would sneak down to the lake to swim.

Shady Hollow is where I would sit on the porch and write letters and poetry on wet September afternoons; took walks through woods and pastures and dreamed; where I would sit out at night staring at the stars, hoping to see one shoot across the sky. It is where I would gaze up at a full moon thinking well of my bosom friends, and know that they were doing the same.
Shady Hollow is the steam billowing off the surface of the lake with the sun, looking like the moon, shining through the fog. It is windy autumn days with a clear blue sky and dreary February afternoons greeting the first spring blossoms. It is the young leaves in spring and the old leaves in fall. It is the first snow of winter and wild summer thunderstorms. It is blazing stars and goldenrod blooming in October. It is rain and wind and earth and sky.
Shady Hollow is nostalgia, hope, anticipation, longing, melancholy and joy.
Shady Hollow is more than words can tell. It may sound silly but if you only knew what it all truly means to me, I can't help but believe that it would move you as it moves me. That is the perfect way to describe it; my life has been forever moved by that place that I called home. And now that I have taken flight, I truly hope to create another such place for my children to grow up enjoying!
